I'm not evaluating the movie technically, what I'm saying here is basically what I perceived (philosophically) from watching it...
The whole movie reminded me of some principles of life:
- To Keep the Faith.
- That those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.
- The result of YOU not listening to your experience is that YOU keep re-living it.
I believe you gain knowledge though observation, through experiencing directly. I believe life repeats itself - in various forms - with offering you same decisions which may look different but they are same in nature and as long as you don't make the right decision regarding that matter life repeats itself offering you that decision agian in one another form till you make the right decision – of course there’s a price to be paid which is mostly the time you lose and a bit of money. This may look off the topic but it's not, I may refer to it again!
You learn, you'll be given opportunity to prove you've learned or you can and do remember experiences of your life - It's up to you to decide to repeat that experience, you can choose to repeat the experience out of foolishness or 'cuz it's a sweet experience - not to mention that repeating an experience is learning again so even though you choose to repeat it you'll be given opportunity to prove you've done it well.
And the movie is based on same philosophy; the slumdog millionaire Jamal learned, observed, faced different things in various points of his life and when he was offered to show he can remember experiences and incidents of his life, he did. He luckily did remember various points of his life and he selected the right answer among multiple choices which made him a millionaire. He otherwise would has kept repeating same experience – not living a miserable life of a vagabond kid but his routine ordinary work in the place where he used to serve tea...
